Christmas Cookbook: Best of Bridge Easy Holiday Recipes

If you are looking for great ideas for a holiday and Christmas cookbook with easy holiday recipes that you will want to make over and over, you really should look at the new cookbook from the Best of Bridge ladies, Best of Bridge Holiday Classics: 225 Recipes for Special Occasions.

The Best of Bridge ladies, if you aren’t already familiar with them are a group of women who played bridge together for years, enjoying each other’s great recipes each time they got together. Someone suggested that they gather their delicious recipes together into a cookbook and the first Best of Bridge Cookbook was released. Home cooks have enjoyed their cookbooks for over 20 years now and the Best of Bridge ladies have become an international phenomenon.

This latest collection of recipes from the Bridge ladies includes a gathering together of some of their best classic holiday and entertaining recipes, many of which have been updated, plus some new recipes that are sure to become classics on their own.

Some of the recipes from this book that I think you will enjoy include:

  • Best Seafood Lasagna
  • Chilled Salmon Souffle
  • Cranberry Scones
  • Asparagus Chicken Puffs
  • Pomegranate and Feta Salad
  • Cajun Crab Cakes with Herb Dipping Sauce
  • Roast Beef with Mustard Peppercorn Crust
  • Classic Roast Turkey
  • Southwest Turkey ‘n Rice
  • Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Squares (my absolute favorite)
  • Chocolate Rum Cookies
  • Frozen Lemon Puff
  • Little Sticky Toffee Puddings

I really like this cookbook and know it is one that will stay on my shelves for years. It won’t just be used for holidays. The recipes in Best of Bridge Holiday Classics are great for any time of year, especially for entertaining.

The recipes are easy to prepare and use ingredients that you will either have on hand or can easily purchase. I love that. There is not much worse for me when I am putting together a meal for guests than to fiddle with lots of ingredients I haven’t used before or that I have to go from store to store just to find. That won’t happen to you with these recipes.

The only negative comment I have about this cookbook is the one I have with all Best of Bridge cookbooks. The font is nice, but it is printed in all caps, which I find more difficult to read than lower case. They could also do with shortening the paragraphs so you don’t get lost when you are following the instructions. That said, it’s a really good cookbook.

I give this cookbook a definite BUY if you love classic easy holiday recipes and recipes for entertaining, some with a nice twist.
