Buffalo wings didn’t get their name from any reference to buffalo, the animal. They were first introduced on a restaurant menu in Buffalo NY, where they are still a beloved staple of pretty much every bar and local eatery.
Blue cheese dip is easy to make.
Sauté together a few savory ingredients like garlic, shallots and a touch of mustard powder for flavor. Then mix together some yogurt and mayonnaise and add the garlic onion mixture.
Stir in the blue cheese. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to cool it down and allow all those wonderful flavors to meld together, then get out the dippers and enjoy.
Buffalo wings are traditionally served with a blue cheese dip, along with sticks of carrots and celery. That’s why this dip is often referred to as Buffalo wing dip.
You don’t need Buffalo wings as dippers to enjoy this dip. Dip any of the raw vegetables you enjoy as dippers – carrots, celery, sliced peppers, broccoli, cauliflower. They all work well as dippers here.
This is an easy dip recipe that will be the hit of any party.

Serving Suggestions:
- This dip recipe is a standard accompaniment to buffalo wings or any other wing recipe.
- You can also serve it with raw veggies. I would choose a mix of carrots, celery sticks, red pepper strips and raw mushrooms. Also try green onions or small pieces of cauliflower.
